Good driving conditions across the province

Roads across the province are bare and dry for most areas with good visibility.

There are a few wet sections on the Great Northern Peninsula and southeastern Labrador.

The MV Kamutik W is in service but off schedule. Departure will be load and go. Other provincial ferries and Marine Atlantic are operating on time.

There are no delays at the St. John’s International Airport, Gander International Airport, or Deer Lake Regional Airport.

Icy roads reported across parts of the province

Roads are wet and on the Avalon Peninsula. In central Newfoundland, roads are mostly wet with a few icy sections from South Brook to Birchy Narrows.

On the west coast, roads are mostly dry. Roads on the northern tip of the Great Northern Peninsula have icy patches and from Flower’s Cove to the St. Anthony Airport, roads are partly covered in ice.

In Labrador, roads are dry with a few icy patches on the Southern Labrador Highway.

Marine Atlantic is on schedule. The MV Kamutik W is in service but off schedule. Other provincial ferries are on schedule.

At St. John’s International Airport, PAL Airlines flight 922 from Gander and flight 921 to Gander is delayed.

PAL Airlines flights 921 and 922 are also delayed at the Gander International Airport.

Flights are on time at the Deer Lake Regional Airport.

Detour continues on Canada Drive

The detour on Canada Drive from Hamlyn Road to Columbus Drive will remain in place this week.

The detour is to facilitate the ongoing construction of the Shared-Use Path on Canada Drive.

Access for local residents and emergency services will be maintained. Signage will be in place and flag persons will be on site.

The detour is expected to be in place until Friday, October 27.

Lane reduction downtown to facilitate construction project near National War Memorial

There will be a lane reduction in place starting today on Duckworth Street from King’s Road to Holloway Street.

The lane reduction is necessary to facilitate the ongoing construction project adjacent to the National War Memorial.

Signage will be in place and flag persons will be on site. Motorists may experience delays as a result.

The lane reduction is expected to be in place until Friday.

Wet roads across eastern and central Newfoundland

Roads across eastern Newfoundland and central are wet with standing water in some areas. Hydroplaning is a possibility. There are also areas of fog.

Across the west coast and Labrador, roads are dry.

Marine Atlantic is operating on time.

MV Beaumont Hamel and MV Legionnaire are back on the Bell Island to Portugal Cove run.

PAL Airlines flight 916 from St. Anthony and PAL Airlines flight 922 from Gander are delayed at the St. John’s International Airport. PAL Airlines flight 915 to Goose Bay and flight 921 to Gander are delayed.

At the Gander International Airport PAL Flights 921 and 922 are delayed.

Flights are on time at the Deer Lake Regional Airport.

Mostly wet roads across the province

Roads on the Avalon Peninsula, central, and parts of the south coast are wet with some areas of fog. Across the west coast and up the Great Northern Peninsula, roads are dry.

In Labrador, there are a few showers in western areas resulting in wet roads, elsewhere roads are dry.

Marine Atlantic and provincial ferries are operating on time.

There are no flight delays at the St. John’s International Airport, Gander International Airport, and the Deer Lake Regional Airport this morning.
